Dressage News for June

Congrats to AHAEC members on their successes at Open dressage shows in Ontario. Sue Crawford, Annsley Kesten, and Shelly Higgins had a great show at the recent Caledon Cadora Trillium Show in Orangeville. Results can be seen here for the entire show: http://www.caledondressage.com/2007JuneScores.pdf

4 Dressage Riders from Windsor Farms in Leamington made the 6 hour drive to Zone 9 and Eastern Canadian Breeders in Bethany. Minke, Lauren, Bill, and Mikayla. Susan Crawford, and myself were also there. Sorry if I left anyone out who attended from our AHAEC club!
I left the show before all of the results were posted. The Zone 9 Dressage show had 43 rides. The show was also held in conjunction with a Pony Club Qualifier, a Primary show. 3 Dressage rings ran from 8 in the morning until 7:30 at night. Results should come from Jill Barton shortly.
Plans are in the works to hold the Zone 9 show in one ring in the morning at the show next year. Unfortunately for the people who were travelling great distances to return home, it made for an awfully long day when the rides were not until 3 or later in the afternoon.

KF Almaz+// made the front cover of the Canadian Trakehner Horse Magazine for Spring 2007. This is the second time she has been on the cover.

Things are in the works to hold an "out of Region" qualifier in Region 18 in the spring. This would allow riders from here to compete in the US, and the US riders to qualify for Region 18 Dressage in the US. I can't get into too much detail at this point, as not all has been solidified. I know there are mixed feelings about this, but our region needs entries to keep the dressage at the Regional Championship show. It would also be a bonus for riders who would like to attend a US Regional show, but don't have to cross the border twice!

The closing date for the Milestone Summer Dressage show is fast approaching. Please send your entries to Cheryl asap.

The AHA site has had a makeover. You can now easily find out whether your horse is qualified for Regionals and Nationals at a glance. The most recent shows that have been recorded are now found at the bottom of the page of your results; not at the top. Confusion has abounded regarding people who do/don't know whether they are qualified. If you go the the site, and download Chapter 17, it clearly tells you what is needed.
